This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nurses who seek knowledge about promoting safety for women in Native communities. It is appropriate for all levels of participants’ knowledge.

Course Objectives:

1. Analyze ways Native communities can help to improve safety for their female members.

2. Describe how programs can be developed and/or enhanced.

3. Understand the role of tribal courts and other prosecutorial means designed to help protect Native women.
